Ultra-Luxury Pamushana, Sabi Sands & Cape Town Safari
This itinerary offers ultra-luxury accommodations alongside diverse safari and outdoor experiences, creating a once-in-a-lifetime tour of Southern Africa. It highlights some of the region’s most sought-after wildlife reserves and natural landmarks amidst personalised services offering an exclusive holiday experience.
Your journey begins at the award-winning Saxon Hotel for a one-night stay of pampered luxury in Johannesburg before you travel across the border to Zimbabwe. You'll spend three nights at Pamushana Safari Lodge and experience the luxury of curating your outdoor adventures. Whether you want to dedicate an entire day to birdwatching or mountain biking through the savanna plains, it’s up to you.
Your wilderness trip continues back in South Africa in Kruger's famous Sabi Sands Reserve. You'll spend three nights here in the riverside haven of Singita Boulders Lodge for sunset game drives in the Big 5 heartlands. Next, you'll head down to trendy Cape Town for four nights at Ellerman House. Situated along the mountainside and overlooking the exclusive beaches of Bantry Bay, the final leg of your journey offers a gateway for exploring this trendy coastal metropolis.
This is a positive-impact trip for the discerning traveller seeking a high-end, detail-oriented itinerary that also minimizes your carbon footprint and supports sustainable tourism. A portion of your fees goes towards Singita's child nutrition programs, as well as the Malilangwe Trust's wildlife conservation efforts.
Saxon hotel was wonderful. Dining options were both very good – one casual and one more formal – and both delivered great service and food.
Once you've landed at OR Tambo, a friendly driver will meet you at the arrivals terminal for a road transfer to your one-night stay at the award-winning Saxon Hotel, which shares a proud history as a former residence of Nelson Mandela while he worked on his book, A Long Walk to Freedom. Situated on four hectares of well-manicured gardens, it offers a secret hideaway in the centre of Johannesburg's affluent Sandton suburbs.
Upon arrival, you'll be invited to indulge in a pampering spa treatment at the Saxon Spa & Studio. Here, you can experience one of the hotel's signature cleansing therapies, the Rasul Spa Ritual, an exfoliating mud chamber experience that will leave you feeling rejuvenated after a long flight.
Here, you'll experience a masterfully crafted six-course meal, paired with world-class wines from the hotel's cellar and prepared using the finest ingredients, from tender duck breasts to fresh pomodoro ravioli.
After a luxurious first night, settle in for a comfortable night's rest in a well-appointed palatial suite with its plush king-sized bed and nouveau African style decor, boasting your very own personalised butler service.

Singita Pamushana is one of my personal favourite Big 5 safari experiences in Southern Africa. Excellent safari destination for families, groups, romantic honeymoon getaways and even single travellers. There is something special for everyone at Pamushana – walking safaris, game drives, fishing in the Malilangwe Lake, cultural history and scrumptious food. This is everything you think paradise in the bush must be like and I cannot wait to return to this magical place.
After breakfast, a driver will collect you from the hotel's reception desk and take you back to OR Tambo for a flight to Buffalo Range Airport. Upon arrival in Zimbabwe, a Singita representative will meet you for a road transfer to camp, marking the beginning of the safari portion of your trip. Situated on 130,000 acres of untamed lowveld in the exclusive Malilangwe Reserve, you'll spend three nights in an ultra-luxurious suite at Singita Pamushana Lodge.
Curate your safari experience with unique outdoor adventures. On dedicated game drives and walking safaris, you can explore the expanse of the lowveld under the expert guidance of game rangers who are well-versed in recognising the calls of African hornbills. You can also locate ancient San rock art sites for a glimpse into the archaeological highlights of the region. Relish a sunset cruise along the tranquil Lake Malilangwe, with its gentle waves and congregating wildlife, before setting out for stargazing under the velvety African sky.
Enjoyable afternoons at the lodge include a trip to the spa, a convivial game of tennis, or a pristine 9-hole golf course. There is also a mountain biking track with the unique addition of an archery range for adrenaline seekers. After each day, you're invited to indulge in a romantic candlelit dinner on your pool terrace. Delight in Afro-fusion cuisine and a vast selection of wines, served by a personal butler, before a nightcap next to the crackling fireplace of your spacious lounge.

Singita Boulders encompassed it all. Wow. I was finally able to turn off the background noise I have had for the last 24 months and totally relax. Everything about Singita, the location, the staff, the rooms, the food etc contributed. My son agreed he hadn't been this relaxed in a long time. We were leaving our hotel in Johannesburg to catch our federal air flight and had a gentleman with a Singita shirt saying he was on our flight. Had a nice visit and later found out he was a manager and while waiting for the flight, he called the lodge and arranged our guide and tracker who were fabulous and fun. He checked on us during our stay. Amazing. They also arranged a sensory meditation session...
The next day, a road transfer will take you back to the airport for a flight to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. Upon landing in Nelspruit, a light aircraft will offer a bird’s-eye view of the Kruger landscape, welcoming you to your final safari destination. A guide awaits you at the airstrip for a short drive to your three-night stay in an elegant riverside suite at Singita Boulders Lodge.
Situated in the famous Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, the lodge offers twice-daily game drives under the guidance of legendary park rangers. These drives will provide unrivalled wildlife sightings of the famous Big 5. The reserve is also well-known for its regular leopard sightings, which you'll encounter more frequently during scenic sunrise and sunset game drives. You can also opt for walking safaris led by a dedicated Shangaan tracker, who will share the secrets of navigating the wilderness in search of wildlife and teach you the sounds of bird calls. Additionally, you can visit local villages to learn about the culture.
Back at the lodge, a dedicated health consultant is available to recommend massage treatments to soothe your aching muscles after an invigorating work out in the gym. Evening dining features a fusion of contemporary African and modern European delicacies, served alongside world-class South African wines from the lodge's vast cellar. A variety of romantic dining options are available, whether you prefer a star-lit dinner by a cozy boma fire or a meal on your private terrace.

Had a nice visit and later found out he was a manager and while waiting for the flight, he called the lodge and arranged our guide and tracker who were fabulous and fun. He checked on us during our stay. Amazing. They also arranged a sensory meditation session one morning on the banks of the river. Everything about Singita was low-key and relaxed but attention to detail was spectacular. Not over the top but special. I was so sad to leave.
A beautiful property with wonderful staff and amazing views. They were attentive and made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. Another accommodation we would recommend to anyone going to Cape Town for a special occasion.
