I have worked in various aspects of the travel industry for the past 25+ years and joined Go2Africa in 2019, where I've honed my skills, using my knowledge of Africa to create wonderful and adventurous itineraries for my clients.
Growing up, we spent most of our family holidays on the road, exploring South Africa. From the Drakensberg mountains to the scenic Cape, to the battlefields of KwaZulu Natal and the wild animals of the Kruger, this ignited a passion in me to travel extensively locally and abroad. After living abroad, I returned to my beloved Africa and have been privileged to further explore the wonders of Eastern and Southern Africa, and with this knowledge, I curate my clients’ greatest adventures.
On my first trip to Kenya, one of my most unforgettable moments was at Giraffe Manor, where I experienced pure magic up close. The awe of standing face to face with a graceful giraffe and hand-feeding it is a memory that has been etched into my soul.
Every detail of this historic manor, from its exquisite architecture, superb cuisine, and cosy but tastefully decorated rooms, painted a picture of sheer luxury and serenity. Join me as I seek out more extraordinary moments and create lasting memories in every corner of East and Southern Africa.
One of the most poignant and memorable experiences I organized for a client was an elephant encounter at the majestic Victoria Falls. This journey was a dream she had longed to fulfill, as she had loved elephants from an early age, and this was part of her bucket list trip exploring Southern Africa.
She not only witnessed the awe-inspiring beauty of these gentle giants but also gained profound insights into the critical work of the anti-poaching units and their efforts to protect our African wildlife. She also got to visit and interact with the local community, which gave her newfound knowledge of the African way of life. In an email that she wrote to me, she said – “It was a transformative day that resonated with my spirit and has left an indelible mark on my soul.”
When it comes to travelling in Africa, I abide by one golden rule: pack light and embrace the spirit of ‘bush casual'. In Africa, it is not about dressing up, but about immersing yourself in the raw beauty of nature.
