Overview of Sala’s Camp

Kenya, Masai Mara

Located next to the Sand River and set in a shady forest, Sala’s Camp offers tented safari accommodation in the heart of the northern corridor in Kenya’s Masai Mara and is in an area famous for its excellent wildlife sightings. It is among the first camps to witness the Wildebeest Migration as it passes from the Serengeti into the Mara.

A perfect location to watch the annual Wildebeest Migration, you can watch the herds passing your tent as they gather to drink at a point where the Sand and Keekorok Rivers meet. Go out on 4X4 game drives, guided nature walks in the Sand River to track overnight spoor, and hot-air balloon safaris.

Children are welcome and there are two spacious Family Tents to choose from. There are also two romantic Honeymoon Tents, and all suites have private plunge pools with views of the Sand River and northern Serengeti. Sala’s Camp has a Silver Eco Rating from EcoTourism Kenya for its commitment to sustainable management and strong relationship with the local Maasai community.

Forest Tent with Pool

Elegant and comfortable, the spacious Superior Tents are under-canvas suites combining modern comforts with an authentic safari style. The en suites come standard with hot showers, baths, running water and flushing toilets.

Take in the views of the Mara while swimming in the private plunge pool. Or, better yet, recline in bed with a good book with this picturesque surrounding as your backdrop.

General Facilities

Go on expertly led game drives in a closed Land Rover with a pop-up roof that offer exceptional game-viewing opportunities or take to the sky on romantic hot-air balloon safaris. Sala’s Camp welcomes children of all ages and a child-minding service is available on request. In the evenings, enjoy stargazing around the fire or an in-room spa treatment.
