I was born in The Congo and while my move to South Africa was unexpected, it’s been great. I have lived in sunny Cape Town ever since. Over the years, I've come to fall in love with our beautiful Africa, its natural wonders, its beauty, and everything else it has to offer. I have over 10 years in the travel industry. collecting great knowledge and experience in Southern Africa. I love transferring my experiences to travellers from all over the world, showing off Africa, one itinerary at a time.
On my first safari to Madikwe Private Game Reserve, on the evening game drive, the guide switched off the vehicle and asked us to sit, listen, and reflect. I felt the connection to the bush, being surrounded by nature, listening to the sounds of the night coming from all the animals, I felt in awe of what nature offers us, the sheer tranquility a simply city cannot match. This is what I look forward to doing on my own when on safari.
The most memorable experience for me was a couple in their eighties journeying to South Africa. They were one of my first clients and we seemed to have connected easily from the word go. We were on a conference call almost every second day (they lived in different cities at the time). During this time, we learned so much about each other – at the time I was expecting my first child, so they always wanted an update when we had a call. She actually bought a book for my son which we read to this day. They thoroughly enjoyed their safari to Kruger National Park. I have a reminder to send them birthday messages, which always prompts a little chat.
Although our expertise lies in curating luxury safari packages that are very organised, I often say, expect less to be wowed. Expectations sometimes set us up for disappointment and that is not something you'd like to experience during a magical African safari. Try to connect with the people on safari where possible, especially the guides – after all, they are the reason we get to see so many animals. They are not only knowledgeable on animals but plants too!
