Kwandwe Ecca Lodge has all the ingredients for an unforgettable family safari getaway: malaria-free, perimeter fence, entertainment room and spacious family suites. Families are allocated their own private guide and vehicle for the flexibility to design their own schedule, and child-minders are available when parents need some down time. The lodge’s play centre will keep the kids busy and offer family activities including kite building, board games and scavenger hunts.

Kwandwe Private Game Reserve is a conservation victory. Comprising just 26 rooms split across two intimate lodges and three villas, the reserve offers one of the highest land-to-guest ratios in South Africa. The successful development of this high-yield/low-impact conservation model is key to furthering our numerous conservation initiatives. Kwandwe is committed to making a positive and lasting difference in the rural Eastern Cape, one of South Africa's least developed provinces. Working through their social development partner, the Ubunye Foundation, they invest in projects that improve lives and create sustainable livelihood opportunities in marginalised rural communities.

For every night you spend at Kwandwe, you make a difference through your Community & Conservation Levy. Funds are split equally between the conservation and community projects and initiatives, and the levy applies to all guests 12 years and older.

Suite

Kwandwe Ecca Lodge features just six intimate suites, each with an en-suite bathroom that features a double vanity, bathtub and indoor shower. Each of the suites also boast a private outdoor shower that overlook the pristine bushveld. The suites also offer a comfortable sitting area with minibar, coffee making facilities, and two-day beds that are suitable for children under the age of 16 years. The sitting area has a stackable door to provide privacy. Enjoy beautiful views of the bushveld from the suite’s private wrap-around wooden deck and private plunge pool.

General Facilities

Kwandwe Ecca Lodge has numerous top-class facilities for you to enjoy during your stay. There is a refreshing rim-flow pool to cool off in after a game drive, as well as a lovely bar and lounge area to relax in while taking in the views and enjoying a sundowner drink. The lodge also has an entertainment room that features a TV, board games, reading books and internet station.

    We stayed here for three nights in Feb-2013 with our two sons 4 & 6 and and we had a fantastic stay. Best vacation ever! The wake up call at 05:00 from Ranger Ryan started our days in a perfect way. This place has got it all, lovely room with a small plunge pool and shower outside, delicious food and the staff was very accommodating and service minded. Our guide Ryan and tracker Andy did the game drives to something that we will have in our memories for the rest of our life. Especially the breakfast in the bush, that was amazing!

    I can not find enough words to say how much we loved this place and of course we can not do anything else than give Kwandwe our biggest recommendations.
