After arriving at Botswana’s Maun Airport, you’ll board a smaller charter plain for a quick flight into the bush. Touching down at Chobe Airstrip will awaken an overwhelming sense of excitement – this is real Africa! Another short flight takes you from the northern part of the Delta straight into the Delta’s Moremi Game Reserve. Marvel at your bird’s-eye view of this vast inland delta’s sprawling grassy plains, intricate waterways and residents like hippos, elephants and crocodiles. The first thing you’ll notice when arriving at Mombo Camp is its fresh and contemporary design, and the raised main area designed to provide wandering space for wildlife below.

There is no better way to explore the ‘Venice of safari’ than on a mokoro (dugout canoe) ride. Discover the fascinating smaller creatures of the Delta like colourful frogs and waterbirds, while your guide gently poles your ‘game drive vehicle’ along papyrus and water lily-flanked waterways. A boating excursion, on the other hand, allows you to reach and explore the more distant waterways and deep channels where boisterous hippos rule.
