Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel

The Cape Cadogan Hotel in Cape Town has got to be one of the best hotels ever, and the restaurant next door was also superb.

Simply perfect at the Cape Cadogan, where we were greeted with open arms by the lovely Anita.

I had a lovely overnight stay at Cape Cadogan. It is a centrally located Boutique Hotel, in the heart of town close to retaurants and bars, and not far from the Waterfront and other points of interest. The staff are very friendly, the facilities are comfortable. Our room was really spacious and beautifully decorated. Super comfortable beds and pillows. Our room (no 3) got wonderful sunshine in the morning so to lay in bed with the doors open, listening to the world outside was really lovely. Nice amenities in the room too. Overall, a great property.

The Cape Cadogan boasts a new look that combines brass fixtures from the mid-century modern designs with new vibrant greens. The lounge area is more open with lots of seating areas for guests who prefers to stay in to read a book, have a drink from the bar or just catch up on some emails. The rooms are spacious and a select few has their own private courtyards.

The new addition to the Cape Cadogan is the spa which offers a couple’s treatment room. Guests can also make use of the shower facilities should they wish to freshen up after an early arrival or late departure.

The hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants and right next door is the new Upper Union restaurant. This restaurant is open for breakfast for in-house guests only and at night it is open to the public. Reservations are highly recommended

The newly renovated Cape Cadogan Hotel is chic, elegant and completely on-trend. They have opened up the rooms to bring more light and space into the common areas as you arrive. White, black and a bottle/ forest green colour create bold statements in the hotel. Rooms are large and spacious, as they have now made sure there is more continuity between the room categories. Previously, the Luxury Room was small and pokey. They have their own spa on site, guest bathroom should guests need a refresh pre/ post flights that our outside of check-in time. Cozy fireplace, honesty bar, library and seating areas are ideal for guests to relax before they go out. Not that they need to go far – Upper Union has opened next door. Breakfast is served there for hotel guests only, but it is open to the public for lunch and dinner. Highly recommend for couples and anyone looking for sophisticated luxury away from a “big hotel atmosphere” and with a personal touch from the staff.

It was really lovely little place and we loved it from the second we parked up. We arrived early in the morning straight from our flight (so well before the designated check in time), to ask if we could drop our bags off before going off to Boulders Beach; the staff were amazing in offering us food/drink/showers and taking care of everything.

Those real personal touches continued throughout our say (notes left in our room, daily weather reports, complimentary cakes & drinks in the communal areas). It was a perfect base for exploring the city as well as being a great place to spend a bit of time (when we had a spare few minutes!).

A mere stone's throw away from the heart of Kloof Street, the Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel is a national monument, beautifully built around the history of Cape Town and dating back to 1800.

Lots of highlights but we loved Cape Cadogan and its neighborhood for Cape Town exploring. So many good places to hang out and eat in Cape Town – Chef’s Warehouse and, of course, The Test Kitchen being the highlights, but I am drinking coffee from Truth as I write this…!

Staff at the hotel were exceptional. Specifically Nadine, one of the hosts at Cape Cadogan. The food was excellent throughout the trip. Cape Town Nadine gave us recommendations for local restaurants that were very yummy. We were very happy with the food and the wine.

The Cape Cadogan was a real treat – in an incredibly convenient location, it was a piece of paradise in the city without any of the noise or hustle and bustle associated with city dwelling. The staff were all incredible and Tim, the chap on check-in, could not have done enough for us over our stay there, in fact everyone I approached possessed a can-do attitude with a gorgeous sunny South African smile. Another bonus was the pool area – we were in the middle of the heatwave and it was entirely peaceful and we never felt that we were ‘seeking out' a lounger. The staff ensured we were well hydrated and their little patisseries were just the ticket after a long day hitting the tourist scene…

Faith and her team at the Cape Cadogan Hotel provided such a warm welcome. The food was fabulous, both at the hotel and at nearby restaurants.

Cape Cadogan was a really nice hotel. The concierge staff was wonderful and really helped us make the most of our time in Cape Town. The friendly staff and amazing location really stood out to us.

The Hotel Cadogan in Cape Town was charming and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Those little extra touches such as afternoon drinks and snacks, port and sherry in the evening, plus the honesty bar all added to the atmosphere. The selection of food at breakfast was excellent as were the staff.

The Cape Cadogan accommodations may have raised the bar – the hot water bottle in bed at night was just one of the small touches they add to fine rooms and a great breakfast. If anything, their staff was even more helpful than the previous places but we had the nicest, most helpful people everywhere we were.

Everything seriously was amazing. Love, love the Cape Cadogan. Would stay there in a heartbeat. Everyone did such an amazing job welcoming is and making our wedding/honeymoon special. All of the hotels adorned our beds and have us special surprises like surprise romantic in-room dinner at the Tinga Lodge and beautiful candlelit baths with warm water waiting for us to get into!

The Hotel and staff were excellent. We had a room on the street side. My wife asked if we could have another room. We were placed in an apartment at no extra cost

Cape Cadogan. At this guest house, in Cape Town, we had a room (#3) on the ground level which was breath taking, spacious, light, bright and oh so comfortable. The workers at this guest house were the absolute best. We felt right at home from the moment we walked through the door. Everyone here was very attentive. Breakfast was complimentary and was the best meal of my day. I love this place and would go there again.

Cape Cadogen and Franschhoek were amazing. Given the time I think we would have loved another day or two in both of those places so for anyone with the available time I would recommend sticking around. There is just an insane amount of stuff to do around Cape Town

The Cape Cadogan hotel in Cape Town was very nice. The staff was friendly and recommended great restaurants for us to dine at. The room was nice and clean. We appreciated the flowers and champagne in our room.

We loved Cape Cadogan – the staff was very friendly and the room was quite nice, very clean, comfortable bed, great shower.

The Cape Cadogan was very nice too – I wish my bathroom was as lovely as the one we had – walk in shower that could fit 10 people!

The Cape Cadogan hotel is very pleasant accommodations, with goo- sized and comfortable rooms. Nice outdoor patio area for breakfast & lounging, very plentiful morning breakfast and very helpful staff in planning the day’s activities. Also well located in town for easy access to museums, and many attractions.

Cape Cadogan is an awesome place. The people can’t be any more helpful and the room was quaint and comfortable and the location is perfect. Perfect base to do all of our activities.

Cape Cadogan was charming and a wonderful place to start our holiday. Our only complaint about Cape Cadogan was that the bathroom in our room was very very cold. The breakfast was wonderful there and staff was very friendly and always helpful.

The accommodation, service, staff, location etc etc. was just perfect. It was a great place to end a great trip.

The Cape Cadogan was also nice, they made a surprise one night decorating the room with candles and flowers and champagne, it was good.

Cape Cadogan – It was a beautiful boutique hotel – I just wish we had more time in it! The staff (cant remember his name, the tall guy) was super helpful and helped us book restaurants, gave us directions etc. The rooms were amazing – so spacious and gorgeous little touches like the fresh fruit and welcome letter. A really lovely atmosphere there. Food was great – the breakfasts were really delicious, good choice of food & I loved the design of the breakfast room, really clean and white & modern. Was a perfect location.

Your recommendations were all spot on. Everything met and exceeded our expectations. Cape Cadogan was perfect, both in location and services. The rooms were beautiful and the staff were very helpful and attentive.

Beautiful hotel in Cape Town with outstanding service. The Budget car was delivered right on time the following morning and it was a kick to drive on the left hand side (although a little awkward.) Very close to downtown with great restaurant recommendations from the staff and we had an incredible drive along the Cape (with a guide) and an incredible hike up Table Mountain – again, beautiful geography and great people!

Cape Cadogan – really lovely accommodations and the staff were welcoming and very helpful! Great location as the Hop on Hop Off double decker tour bus stop was a 5 minute walk away. We bought 2 day tickets and it dropped us at all the spots we wanted to see with virtually no planning. Normally I would never do this but for our short stay in Cape Town it was perfect – and so inexpensive! At night the corner of Kloof Street was a bit seedy but we managed just fine.

The Hotel was very nice but the room, I think could be better, we saw in the web site better ones and the bathroom didn´t work very good!!

Wonderful! We loved the personal and attentive but also not over-the-top service; they welcomed us as honeymooners and went the extra mile, giving us sparkling wine and the rose petal treatment! The location was also ideal; a short taxi to the V&A and also bars and restaurants around the corner. Finally, we loved the way the place looked – the colonial style brought up-to-date was brilliant.

The Cape Cadogen was very nice. We found the location very convenient and we walked to dinner many nights from there – we particularly enjoyed tapas at Fork restaurant and our dinner at Savoy Cabbage. We couldn’t believe how affordable it was to dine out. Compared to the U.S. it was a total bargain!
Cape town was much more beautiful than I even pictured it. The beaches, the cliffs, the mountains…. it was amazing. The one day we tried to go to table mountain there were hurricane force winds. I don’t think I have been in wind like that when it wasn’t storming! The first day and night were very chilly but it warmed up quite nicely for the remainder of the trip.

It was fantastic – great staff, fantastic service – lovely place, I would have no hesitation recommending this Guest House to anyone. We ate at Jimmy’s Killer Prawns (thanks for the recommendation), Mamma Africa and Five Flies (both recommended by colleagues at work) and each was a very different eating experience, and all equally delicious!!

It was exact the type of accommodation we do like, cozy, partly years 30 style, in specific our first place, Cape Gadogan Boutique Hotel was special to us, perfect atmosphere, very friendly and helpful personnel, however, we did experience this in general all around.

Further more the mix of areas, nature, wine route and sea site was very good as well. I could recommend this kind of direction / travel and schedule to anyone.
